I recently converted several subversion repositories formerly handled by svn-buildpackage (with the debian/-only approach). I used the guide at https://wiki.debian.org/de/Alioth/Git#Convert_a_SVN_Alioth_repository_to_Git to convert them. The process worked good. But when checking the tags I found, that most of them were wrong. They don't point to the commit, that created the point in tags/<version> created with svn-buildpackage --svn-tag(-only). See https://salsa.debian.org/dleidert/gtypist/tags for example. The tags are all wrong, but they are correct in the subversion repository. The same issue appeared for several other packages, like html-xml-utils or shelxle. This makes git-svn usability highly questionable.
