Interesting. Due to bug 803536¹ we added a dpkg-maintscript-helper
snippet to the postinst file:

# Automatically added by dh_installdeb/10.10.9
dpkg-maintscript-helper rm_conffile
/etc/speech-dispatcher/clients/gnome-speech.conf 0.8.6-2\~
speech-dispatcher -- "$@"
# End automatically added section

Apparently that didn't work. Is this a bug in dpkg-maintscript-helper then?
