Package: software-properties-common Version: 0.96.20.2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
the helper tool add-apt-repository modifies all existing source files sources.list sources.list.d/* reformatting the comments unnecessarily. Example of the change: -#deb [arch=amd64,i386] http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free +# deb [arch=amd64,i386] http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free I do expect a "Debian" tool to perform the requested task minimally, and not to unexpectedly touch all available files in a folder. The repository i requested to add was actually added at the very end of sources.list. The tool should either add a new file in sources.list.d, or add a line in sources.list, even better ask/prompt the user. Thanks! -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.3 Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.13.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages software-properties-common depends on: ii ca-certificates 20161130+nmu1 ii gir1.2-glib-2.0 1.50.0-1+b1 ii gir1.2-packagekitglib-1.0 1.1.5-2 ii python-apt-common 1.4.0~beta3 ii python3 3.5.3-1 ii python3-dbus 1.2.4-1+b1 ii python3-gi 3.22.0-2 ii python3-software-properties 0.96.20.2-1 Versions of packages software-properties-common recommends: ii packagekit 1.1.5-2 software-properties-common suggests no packages. -- debconf-show failed
