As these options are commonly stored in configuration, I think it would be convenient to have those checked when upgrading on the stable path. The NEWS files do not document the change. Admittedly, the syntax was not advertised either (man page says `--port=587`), but my impression is that accepting both is common enough that administrators can easily have configured it that way.
