Before we proceed with anything else, could you please fix a typo in /etc/wpa_supplicant/functions.sh: if ! /sbin/ifquery "${WPA_LOGICAL_IFACE}" > /dev/null 2/&1; then should be if ! /sbin/ifquery "${WPA_LOGICAL_IFACE}" > /dev/null 2>&1; then Please let me know if that fixes the issue for you.
