Sorry, this won't be happening.
youtube-dl needs mpv or mplayer to download RTSP videos. It is not listed as
a recommends for frivolous reasons of "hey, after you download the video,
watch it with with mpv".
In the same manner, mpv needs youtube-dl to play videos directly from
youtube when fed a youtube URL (or any other site that youtube-dl supports).
So, I'm marking this bug as wontfix.
