Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I was writing to a user using /usr/bin/write
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
We were writing in spanish and the í character didn't come through
correctly.
* What was the outcome of this action?
The word "película" appears to the other user as "pelM-CM--cula".
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected the other user to see the word correctly, duh.
