What about having a separate Nestopia package? nestopia-classic or something. It is a shame that a package won't exist to play the older games on older hardware. I have downgraded my version of nestopia and it seems to work fine on the machines that don't have the OpenGL 3.2. I am still working on learning how to maintain such a package myself.
