I was forgetting about profile data. That would be problematic as it stands. IMO the firefox/mozilla developers need to rework that subsystem to facilitate multiple processes sharing the same profile.
For a variety of reasons I tend to leave firefox running almost as
long as my X sessions (measured in weeks, not hours). Sometimes,
however, I'll be away from the console and need to find a bookmark I
had previously saved. I can use VNC, but then I run into "profile in
use" issues. This is another use case for reworking profiles so they
can be shared across processes.
