When I wrote this report there was a dependency on consolekit which is now abandoned upstream https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=813745#5, so that can be ignored now.
There is also a dependency on libappindicator, which is orphaned and is at version 0.4.92 for some time some, whils its upstream is at 12.10.0. It works fine in Debian 9, though. I will check if the same san be said of testing and report back here.
