dvd+rw-tools fails to cross build from source, because it uses the build architecture compiler. Indirecting the explicit $(MAKE) invocations through dh_auto_build fixes that as debhelper knows how to pass cross compilers to $(MAKE). Please consider applying the attached patch. Helmut
