Package: screen Version: 4.5.1-4 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer, I've been having issues with screen since the day I upgraded my OS to Debian 9.0 with the testing distribution. I can use it with the root account, but when entering "screen" in the console while being logged in as an ordinary user, screen returns immediately. The $? variable invariably contains 0, and no errors are reported on console. We already discussed this problem briefly through e-mail, and I noted I had opened a thread on SuperUser (https://superuser.com/q/1223015/539790) several weeks ago. I have trobleshooted a little using strace and gdb, and will perhaps paste their logs in the follow up replies to this message. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages screen depends on: ii libc6 2.24-12 ii libpam0g 1.1.8-3.6 ii libtinfo5 6.0+20161126-1 ii libutempter0 1.1.6-3 screen recommends no packages.
