Package: jenkins.debian.org we have a huge number of jobs calling apt and downloading stuff from the net. From time to time those tend to fail due to some network glitch, despite being a proxy and using deb.d.o that already limit those.
Therefore I propose injecting the apt option
Acquire:Retries
to a value of 3 to as many APTs as possible (reproducible pbuilder and
schroot chroots, chroot-run chroots, more?)
From apt.conf(5):
THE ACQUIRE GROUP
The Acquire group of options controls the download of packages as well
as the
various "acquire methods" responsible for the download itself (see also
sources.list(5)).
Retries
Number of retries to perform. If this is non-zero APT will retry
failed files
the given number of times.
