hi thomas, since it's a failing postinst script that's running and y ou have a fairly stripped down system, my guess is that cactid is missing a dependency on something.
as i'm fairly busy with other projects/packages, i could
really use your help to find this. if you could, please
start by placing a "set -x" at the top of the
/var/lib/dpkg/info/cacti.postinst file, and then attempting
to configure cacti again (if it's still half-installed you
should be able to do this with dpkg --configure -a). the
output from the postinst will probably then give a clear
idea of what's missing.
