Yes.  What I needed was a build log where someone made this directory,
got a package build to succeed, and provide a log which contains a
'build record' (Separated by 'Build Record' and 'done' in the output)
which I can install into the package.

Tried just now to time this by hand on pergolesi, but can't get the
expect-based configuration to work:

debian/config.expect

pt_chown: needs to be installed setuid `root'
The system has no more ptys.  Ask your system administrator to create more.
    while executing
"spawn make"
    invoked from within
"set i [spawn make]"
    (file "debian/config.expect" line 5)

(sid_amd64_pure dchroot)
