Hi Simon Indeed - it is a reasonable idea and upstream author agreed with that We will make permission, group configurable with default 0640, adm values. I am not sure if we should hardcode those with create 0640 root adm in a logrotate rule... may be we should :-) but then if group/permission gets changed within config - logrotated files will be of different ownership/permission...
In any case - fix will be available and duploaded soon and will
close the bug
P.S. I would though argue that this bug has normal severity -- it should
have been properly marked as a wishlist
