Due time constraints and also existing problems while compiling new Thunderbird versions there is no public visible ongoing process of packaging new versions. It doesn't matter much if we can place a recent version into stretch as updates of Thunderbird are handled by the security team and will be normaly accepted if we upload new versions into stable-security. I'm working on 52.1.0 and happily the build problems are gone, but we need to do some more QA stuff before we can upload this version to unstable and stable-security. Regards Carsten
