There is still some delta with a standard Debian install that shouldn't be present: - /etc/ssh/sshd_config is modified (PermitRootLogin don't need to be changed when no password has been set for root, ClientAliveInterval is quite unnecessary). - /etc/bash.bashrc is modified to enable bash-completion. This is not needed anymore since this is automatically enabled by /etc/profile.d/bash_completion.sh. - /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg is also modified for "automatic mounts of /dev/vdb". It also defaults to managing /etc/hosts, something that is different from other distributions. - /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf is modified for compatibility with Azure. Also, those modifications are modifying configuration files. If people are trying a new version from backports, they'll get the confusing "you have modified this configuration file" prompt while they did not.
