Hi, We cannot approve this request without a debdiff. > The pyhon-sardana package depends on python-nxs, which is affected by bug > 861736 [1] and thus may drop from stretch. > > python-sardana is the only rdepends of python-nxs, so we would like to > provide a patch for it allowing to substitute the dependency on python-nxs > by a dependency on python-h5py [2] > > Would the unblock be possible? As mentioned above; without a debdiff I cannot give a definite response. That said, given that the alternative is a removal, I would recommend you to attempt the change. > And if so, how much time would we have to provide the new python-sardana > patched package? > > [...] Until python-sardana is removed from testing. For auto-removal, you can extend the timer by sending feedback/updates to the RC bug causing the auto-removal periodically. Furthermore, we will eventually announce a release date and that will set a definite deadline on this. I don't have a concrete date yet, so I cannot yet say when this deadline is. Thanks, ~Niels
