This has nowhere near enough information to do anything. The output of
`bind -v' (or some other application specific way of listing readline
variables and values)? What's /etc/inputrc look like? How about any
other readline input files?
One thing that would certainly make a difference is whether or not you
set the `prefer-visible-bell' variable, since that can override
bell-style.
