The version of Compiz in Debian is an old one. Due to the Debian freeze delay we have decided to not upload the latest Compiz release to avoid breakage.
Is the same issue as described here ? https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1629749
If yes, It could be a good idea to upload a new Compiz release on the experimental repository that I expect will fix this compatibility issue.
