Package: spim
Version: 8.0+dfsg-6+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I installed spim with the intention of trying out xspim. The command
line program "spim" seems to run fine, but xspim is completely unusable
with broken gui elements. See imgur link for screenshot:

   * What led up to the situation?
   Installed spim, tried running xspim.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I ran xspim with default settings as it came from my package
     manager.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
   xspim is broken

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
   xspim is not broken?

I know from reading other bugs that this version is probably out of
date, and there is a new version of spim built on qt. So this bug report
is probably pointless. I'm going to try building the qt version from
source.

Regards,
Ed
