   * What led up to the situation?
    in installed ldap-account-manager
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

     manually installed php-xml and php-zip packages, then restarted apache2
     
   * What was the outcome of this action?

   warnings in the lam web page about those packages missing went away
