I'll leave it in for a release or two, to let any other bugs surface, but you are right, long-term, there is no need for the view-after-save option any more. In the mean time, I have fixed the bug where the post-save hooks in the save window are not updated if it is opened before the Preferences window. You'll see it in the next release.
