This is the core component of the python-social-auth ecosystem, it implements the common interface to define new authentication backends to third parties services, implement integrations with web frameworks and storage solutions. python-social-auth is already a debian package: https://github.com/python-social-auth/social-core It is a dependency of weblate and it will make easier the effort to package weblate: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=745661
