When using a dark theme (E.g. BlackMATE), the cursor in the text box for renaming files often has a barely visible cursor. See the upstream bug: https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja/issues/688 It has been fixed upstream and backported to 1.16, so simply updating to the latest version (of both caja and mate-themes) should fix the problem.
