In Gnome Settings and KDE Settings, I chose Polish as the environment language. Apart from this, I added LC_ALL, LANG and LANGUAGE exports to .bashrc (pl_PL.utf8). Currently, Gnome Shell is in Polish and non-Gnome apps (Chromium, Qt Creator) are defaulting to Polish. And gnome-music is in Polish. Problem: when I start some Gnome apps (like Maps) from Applications or Activities menu, they’re in English, but if I start them from Terminal, they’re in Polish. In case of Nautilus, if there isn’t any running instance and I start it from menu, its UI is in English. If I start it from Terminal, it’s in Polish. But if there’s already a running instance, the new one is in the language of the first one. Affected apps: Builder, Cheese, gedit, Logs, Maps, Nautilus, Photos, probably Terminal. It seems that Epiphany, Eye of Gnome, Music, Sound Recorder and Gnome Games are not affected. Eye of Gnome and GIMP seem not affected, but they’re in English if I open a picture in one of them from English Nautilus. And they’re again in Polish when started from Polish Nautilus.
