Source: ncurses Version: 6.0+20161126-1 Severity: wishlist I would like to drop the -dbg packages when switching to the ncurses6 ABI (#230990). One problem with them is that they are not multiarch-coinstallable, due to shipping libraries directly in /usr/lib/debug.
The popcon count is in the three digit range, but the number of votes is much lower. I suspect many people installed the -dbg packages back in the days when there were no detached symbols, not to mention automatic -dbgsym packages. When switching to the new ABI, the packages would have to be renamed anyway, so there is no automatic upgrade path unless we provide transitional packages which would also have its problems.
