I think it'd depend on what value does increasing the number bring. If it is the
number of folders that get watched, then increasing this number should be
logical. Because tracker, in its general use, indexes homedir, which should
easily cross the default of 8192. If it results in better performance of tracker
(quicker indexing, lesser power consumption), the it'd be better to bump that
number in 30-tracker.conf.

The Debian kernel default is fine. With the user installing tracker, having that
number bumped should be fine too, in my opinion.

I'm already using the upstream mentioned number and it has been working fine.
