Package: jupyter-core Version: 4.2.0-2 Severity: normal It might be that it is just the RTFM and that I was stuck using good old ipython-notebook for too long... but now that it is gone, I was expecting jupyter package(s) to provide a replacement/transition. Unfortunately it seems that python notebook support for jupyter is simply not present?! (thus marked at normal severity)
I think I have installed all possibly relevant piece of jupyter: $> dpkg -l *jupyter* Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Architecture Description +++-======================-================-================-================================================= ii jupyter-client 4.4.0-2 all Jupyter protocol client APIs (tools) ii jupyter-core 4.2.0-2 all Core common functionality of Jupyter projects (to ii jupyter-nbformat 4.1.0-2 all Jupyter notebook format (tools) ii python-jupyter-client 4.4.0-2 all Jupyter protocol client APIs (Python 2) ii python-jupyter-core 4.2.0-2 all Core common functionality of Jupyter projects for ii python3-jupyter-client 4.4.0-2 all Jupyter protocol client APIs (Python 3) ii python3-jupyter-core 4.2.0-2 all Core common functionality of Jupyter projects for but still can't follow a basic instruction (e.g. from http://jupyter-notebook-beginner-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/execute.html) to run $> jupyter notebook jupyter: 'notebook' is not a Jupyter command am I missing something? -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (300, 'experimental'), (100, 'unstable-debug') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages jupyter-core depends on: ii python3-jupyter-core 4.2.0-2 pn python3:any <none> jupyter-core recommends no packages. jupyter-core suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
