Feel free to NMU with tests disabled, if you consider this to be a major improvement... You can modify the "excludeTests" property to also exclude all "*Sort*" tests, that is a one-line change. The policy does not say it must autobuild _every_ time IMHO. The package is autobuildable, and "buildable within the same release"; just not every time on an overloaded virtual machine. E.g. https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rbuild/unstable/amd64/elki_0.7.1-2.rbuild.log I agree these tests should be eventually removed (and will disable these tests in the next upload), as in particular ARM autobuilders will not be fast enough to pass this test. In particular, it supposedly is buildable with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="nocheck" even on low-CPU machines (plus it is arch-independent). So I do not consider this release critical, and I don't have the time to do an upload right now just because of that.
