Package: amanda-server Version: 1:3.3.9-1 Severity: important Last night the regular backup failed. It turned out that the cause was that /usr/lib/amanda/taper died with a segment violation error. This has not happened before, but now it is reproducible. The change that happened yesterday was the upgrade from perl 5.22 to 5.24. As taper is a perl script I suspect that this is linked. In fact, now, after a downgrade to the perl 5.22 packages the taper program acts normal again. (This downgrade is also the reason for the debsum error below)
It seems that the amanda-server package does not depend on perl, and therefore it was not rebuilt after the recent perl upgrade. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages amanda-server depends on: ii amanda-common 1:3.3.9-1 ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20160123cvs-3 ii libc6 2.24-3 ii libcurl3 7.50.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.50.0-1 ii libssl1.0.2 1.0.2j-1 amanda-server recommends no packages.
