Package: printer-driver-escpr Version: 1.6.8-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Hi, I have printed a vector graphics file with driver escpr, but the two different options: #lpr -o quality=PLAIN_NORMAL filename.ps #lpr -o quality=PLAIN_HIGH filename.ps don't show any difference in printing resolution. The ppd file has the following lines: *MediaType PLAIN_HIGH/plain papers-High: "<</HWResolution[360 360]>>setpagedevice" *MediaType PLAIN_NORMAL/plain papers-Standard: "<</HWResolution[360 360]>>setpagedevice" so, I tried to modify it as follows: *MediaType PLAIN_VHIGH/plain papers-VeryHigh: "<</HWResolution[5760 1440]>>setpagedevice" *MediaType PLAIN_HIGH/plain papers-High: "<</HWResolution[720 720]>>setpagedevice" *MediaType PLAIN_NORMAL/plain papers-Standard: "<</HWResolution[360 360]>>setpagedevice" and I have reconfigured the printer and its defaults values, obtaining the following results: at PLAIN_HIGH the printer takes a longer time, but the quality is effectively the same as PLAIN_NORMAL; at PLAIN_VHIGH, that is 5760x1440 dpi, the maximum resolution declared by manufacturer, there is a filter fault and the printer doesn't print at all. The printer is an Epson ET-2500 -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages printer-driver-escpr depends on: ii libc6 2.23-5 ii libcups2 2.2.0-2 ii libcupsimage2 2.2.0-2 ii python3 3.5.1-4 ii xz-utils 5.1.1alpha+20120614-2.1 Versions of packages printer-driver-escpr recommends: ii cups-ppdc 2.2.0-2 Versions of packages printer-driver-escpr suggests: pn psutils <none> -- no debconf information
