Hi,
according to the gobject introspection mini policy, the gir package
should be named
girFORMAT-NAMESPACE-VERSION
In your case that would be AppStream-1.0.typelib → gir1.2-appstream-1.0
Please rename the package accordingly.
I would also suggest using the "gir" dh addon.
This will set ${gir:Depends} which you should then add to your package
dependencies.
