Here the trouble begins, see line 769 in the attached file. Please
compare that file to what you have on your system. Why? I had similar
trouble with 2.6.15 untill I commented the old workaround code in lines
724-756. Then the problem was gone.

on there.

That's the point, the package has been modified to use new-style
management functions and apparently these functions are buggy in 2.6.15,
or the drivers does something unexpected but I fail to see what.
