When using a VPN connection in Network Manager, the expected padlock icon does not appear in nm-applet. Instead, it's replaced by the wired connection icon, even if there is no wired connection available.

This behavior occurs in every icon theme installed by default, as well as custom ones like Numix.

I am specifically reporting this as an issue in Cinnamon because the VPN icon shows up fine in GNOME. Apologies if that assumption is incorrect.

Sorry that it took me so long to test this.

I can't reproduce this with 3.0.7-1 using a pptp connection. By this I mean that I see a padlock icon when using such connection.

Are you still able to reproduce the issue?

Additionally, this bug is not present in the version of cinnamon (2.2.16-5) that ships with Jessie.

Happy hacking,
