8#77, I tried to install GCC6-compiled versins of the relevant
packages.
I get the same error : started from the graphical interface, I see the
main windowsz for one-two seconds, then the prograp crashes (and the
window disappears. Started from the command line, I see :

It seems that this is another bug, prossibly related to the first.
Two questions :
1) Do you think worthwhile to file another bug report ?
2) What is the latest "stable" (not reported as having this
bug) version of icedove/iceowl that I could install and
pin ? Icedove is the only mail/calendar/address client that
allows me to reach my Google-hosted calendar and address
book from behind our d*mn corporate firewall...
