Package: yaboot Version: 1.3.17-4 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
Debian Stretch uses the version of yaboot that will not boot the kernel. This is the error I recieve: boot/vmlinux: unknown or corrupt filesystem I discovered that a workaround is to create a seperate /boot partition and format it with ext2. This issue is also present in Gentoo and Ubuntu-MATE. I have verifed this workaround works in both Debian and Ubuntu. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-powerpc Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages yaboot depends on: ii libc6 2.23-4 Versions of packages yaboot recommends: ii hfsutils 3.2.6-13 ii powerpc-utils 1.3.2-1 yaboot suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
