Package: ghi Version: 1.2.0-1 Severity: wishlist Hi,
on a Sid machine maintained for a long time with a few packages still installed which have been removed from the archive, I ran into the following file conflict: Unpacking ghi (1.2.0-1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/ghi_1.2.0-1_all.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/ghi', which is also in package github-cli 1.0.0-1+nmu1 Since github-cli has been removed from unstable about 1.5 years ago and was not part of the Jessie release, this issue only happens if someone hasn't removed the package from his machine (either in unstable/testing or after the dist-upgrade from wheezy and jessie) and is hence only helpful as a hint for those people (hence the severity wishlist). I suggest to add an unversioned Breaks + Replaces on github-cli, but I understand if you do not want to support such (probably not that frequent) setups. Feel free to close the bug report as "wontfix" in the latter case. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (600, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (110, 'experimental'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'buildd-experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages ghi depends on: ii git 1:2.8.1-1 ii ruby 1:2.3.0+4 ii ruby-pygments.rb 0.6.3-2 Versions of packages ghi recommends: ii less 481-2.1 ii most 5.0.0a-2.5 ghi suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
