Package: samba-vfs-modules Version: 2:4.4.5+dfsg-2 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer,
While upgrading from jessie to stretch, dpkg failed to install samba-vfs-modules 2:4.4.5+dfsg-2 due to a file conflict with samba-libs 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3: Unpacking samba-vfs-modules (2:4.4.5+dfsg-2) over (2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/samba-vfs-modules_2%3a4.4.5+dfsg-2_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libnon-posix-acls.so.0', which is also in package samba-libs:amd64 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3 dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe) This was also noted in bug #832880, but this is a different problem than described there. Steps to reproduce: * Install jessie base system and samba-libs * Install samba-vfs-modules from stretch (without upgrading samba-libs) Installing samba-vfs-modules via apt on this base system upgrades samba-libs before installing samba-vfs-modules, but the order does not seem to be guaranteed as I noticed while upgrading my own system.
