Package: ftp-ssl

Severity: normal

On trying to connect I receive this error
Error loading /etc/ftpd-ssl/ftpd.pem:
140302529881744:error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or
directory:bss_file.c:398:fopen('/etc/ftpd-ssl/ftpd.pem','r')
This appears to be identical to bug 635180, which was promised to be
fixed in the next release ... in 2011.
I'm sure it's possible for me to root through the documentation and
figure out how to create my own cert. In fact I will do so as soon as I
send this report. It should not be *necessary* to do so, ever, for the
end-user. At the very least, the error message could be in English (or
other languages), reading something like, "You must create a certificate
to use this program. Read /usr/share/doc/ftp-ssl/cert-generation.txt for
details."
It's quite annoying.
Note that I'm using Debian Mint, but this is the unmodified Debian
package so a Debian bug report should be correct. Further note that the
server I'm connecting to (if I could) is running Debian Jessie and ftpd-ssl.
