That's seems logical. The i2c_sensor module has to be loaded before
/etc/init.d/start is started, as the later need the former. Note that
loading harware monitoring modules automatically load i2c_sensor. Please
uses sensors-detect to detect your monitoring hardware.

I'll disable the error message in the next version, because it is not
really an error message. If you don't have monitoring modules loaded, you don't want to initialize the corresponding modules!

The 2.8.7-8 changelog reads "sensors-detect: automatically adds line to
/etc/modules if the user wants to (closes: bug#266227)"
Does that mean there should be a debconf question about that? I sure
didn't see one. dpkg-reconfigure lm-sensors brings nothing for me.

The configuration (or rather the detection of hardware) is done by
sensors-detect, so this is the program that could add lines to
/etc/modules.

Oho, right, it looks like my brain truncated the "sensors-detect" part.

Bye,
Aurelien

Indeed I had no hardware monitoring modules loaded neither. So the bottom line is really that there's a potentially confusing error message before you do sensors-detect. And that's what you say you'll adress, which seems perfectly logical to me, so...

Thanks for the reply AND the quickness!
