The mixer support build is part of client-common code (library that all guis use - or try to use). Unfortunately that means that from the same build (configure) one can't have guis with different mixer versions. Note that while it has been possible to avoid running configure twice in 2.5 by always using SDL1.2-mixer, in 2.6 you will face the problem of sdl-client working only with sdl1.2-mixer and new sdl2-client only working with sdl2-mixer (solution at that time might be dropping old sdl-client completely, though) - ML
