So there are two things that i think get created by gobject-introspection: /usr/share/gir-1.0/GMime-2.6.gir and /usr/lib/${ARCHITECTURE_TRIPLET}/girepository-1.0/GMime-2.6.typelib I think the .gir file (an XML file) belongs pretty clearly in libgmime-2.6-dev. But all the other .typelib files on my system seem to be shipped in their own gir1.2-* package, like: gir1.2-gcr-3 (and it looks like the associated *-dev package will Depend: on the gir1.2-* package). It'll need a round trip through the NEW queue because of the new package, but that way people who want to use gir (e.g. on a multiarch system) without choosing a full -dev package can use it cleanly. Does this sound right to you? Thanks for the report, --dkg
