I reinstalled the latest gscan2pdf-version from the yakkety repository which is 1.5.0 by now, renamed ~/.gscan2pdf and the programm is running just fine. Plus: the original issue is solved in this version of gscan2pdf. Changing the scanning resolution is now persistant. Thanks a lot for the support and the great application!
