Hey. Hmm, not sure whether this should be done per default...
a) The balance may do quite some rewriting... even if there'd be ionice in front (and I'm not sure whether this would actually work), it may be quite undesirable by SSD people. b) btrfs is still under heavy development, and at least I wouldn't dare to claim for sure, that all these operations (balance/scrub) work safely during any other possible running operation (e.g. device replace, other balances, etc. pp.) c) *If* a regular scrub would be done automatically, than I think at least any outputs with errors should go to a non-logrotated (per default) logfile, as this is likely very important information that the user should be able to see.
