Hi Lisandro, it's true that the buildds build with the same locale (atm?) but we also want to support reproducible rebuilds by individuals who might have *any* locale set (eg. because they want to see error messages in their locale).
Sometimes varying locale only causes harmless unreproducible issues but
we also have seen quite many cases where this locale is leaked into generated
documation and sometimes even in binaries, and sometimes builds even
fail under some locales…
