Would be nice if you could drop gnome-icon-theme-symbolic dependency.
gnome-icon-theme-symbolic is the old GNOME theme package and has been
replaced by adwaita.
Is there some reference regarding these two icon themes? I looked at
the PTS and I did not find something relating their relationship
(except a note that they share similar files). As far as I can see,
they are also co-installable?
Indeed, booth packages contain the same files, adwaita theme is the
new one provided by the gnome project. gnome-icon-theme has been
deprecated for quite some times.
Also I don't think it's upto individual packages to force the (icon)
themes.
Well, it was explicitly requested in 678223.
Well the problem is that a user/downstream/a different desktop
environment can change the default theme used on the system, the theme
should be pulled by a metapackage or a some other packages higher in
the chain IMHO.
ATM, goobox is part of the default GNOME installation, so that means
that it's pulling useless files to all GNOME installation and increase
the diskspace usage on the 1st debian cd.
Also as goobox is gtk3 default to adwaita and the libgtk-3-common is
already pulling adwaita-icon-theme
