IMO this patch is a bad idea. The SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH spec relates to package build processes, convert is an image conversion tool, not a build system. A more sensible idea would be to add a command line option to imagemagick to prevent it from embedding timestamps, and to use this option during the build process.
