Don't. That's blaming Debian for upstream's problems, which are outwith the distro's control. Complain to the source. Then everyone who uses the upstream package benefits. Did you think that if you complain loudly enough to Debian, that its maintainers will wrangle with upstream on your behalf? They've got enough work of their own to do.
